Photography for children offers a range of exciting and valuable learning experiences.

Children can display their creativity through the means of a camera in whatever way suits them, creating new skills as well as memories that will last you a lifetime.

Photography is so much more than clicking a button and taking a picture…

Many of the skills you learn as a photographer can be transferred into real life. As a visual art, photography teaches children how to analyse and observe situations. When taking a picture, you need to be aware of the environment around you and what would look good in a photograph and what wouldn’t.

This ability to analyse allows for a person to become more observant. Being able to decide what goes in frame and out of frame teaches children quick decision making. In fact, any artistic activity, photography included, will lead to an increase in self confidence and higher self esteem which can lead to higher academic achievements.

Photography is also one of the few hobbies that will balance right and left brain activities… you need to know the technical aspects like camera settings as well as the creative aspect in order to take a better photograph.

Overall, photography specifically provides lifelong transferable skills that will be helpful in the job force, but also life in general. (That’s why photographers are such nice people!!) Every job needs someone who is a skilled problem solver and a creative thinker.

So, just to sum it all up…
