If you are into landscapes then you will enjoy a hike on Cape Point in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, or a hike up Lions Head to photograph star trails.

For the budding chefs we have a cooking class to learn how to prepare a traditional Cape Malay Curry, and if you spend long hours in front of your computer editing with one cup of coffee after another, our Lightroom/ Photoshop combo will be very enjoyable. For the bird photographers we offer a session to improve your photography and for you to get the best out of your macro photography we spend a morning or afternoon at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town.

We prefer to call these photo tours of ours “Photo Tip Road Trips” because that is what they really are. Road trips allow you to go at your own pace, removing the unnecessary stress that comes with strict departure times. We have a set itinerary with planned activities for each day. But, often as these trips evolves, our itineries change as we add or remove photo stops, depending on your special interest, the weather, the light, the time of day or as opportunities to photograph something interesting presents itself. We can change our itinerary at a moment’s notice if we find something better to photograph!

The great thing about our Photo Tip Road Trips are that every day is different. Tomorrow brings new landscapes, new towns, and new attractions to photograph. This is very exciting, because every day comes with new opportunities to learn and improve your photographic skills.

Everyone loves a good road trip and capturing the beauty and diversity of the country they are visiting with their cameras, not to mention the quirky farm stalls along the way where you can buy padkos like chicken pie, biltong and koeksisters.

Cape Photographic Company offers a range of photography courses and weekend workshops in and around Cape Town. Our Photographic workshops are held at various scenic locations around Cape Town and from the picturesque village of Kalk Bay.

Our Cape Town photography courses and workshops all have a theory and a practical component, so you can practise what you learn.

Our photographic workshops are perfect for everyone from beginners to amateur photographers, and even experienced photographers who want to brush up on their photography.
There is limited space available on our photographic workshops and courses as we keep them small, to ensure personal attention.

Our one on one photographic courses are tailor made for you and your requirements, and we cater for beginners, amateur and professional photographers, from learning the features of your new camera, how to improve your flash photography or use your flash system off camera, to taking better photographs of your family and friends. Peter can assist you with setting up a photographic studio or traditional black and white darkroom at your home and prepare you for that wedding you were asked to photograph for your neighbour’s son.

With more than 30 years of experience in photography, Peter has vast knowledge of photography, cameras and accessories. We would be able to assist you regardless of what camera you may have, even if you are shooting with your iPhone or a happy snap compact camera.

On conventional photographic courses you learn about photography, but with your own personal Photocoach, you will learn how to use your own camera, at your own pace, without the pressure of a class schedule and the distractions of other people.

The personal Photocoach sessions/ Private lessons are held at Foto First at Valyland Centre in Fish Hoek, but should you prefer a personal Photocoach session in the comfort of your own home or any other location, your own Photocoach will travel to you.
